*Starting on Saturday, November 7 (Sunday mornings in Asia) and going for 6 Saturdays, 3 hours per session until Saturday, December 12. An online workshop learning and practicing to teach all of the first exercises of the Meisner approach. (This will be a very active hands-on class!). This is one of the modules of a six-module Meisner course for teacher training.
*For beginning to advanced teachers from around the world seeking to learn how to teach the Meisner approach. For actors who want to learn the approach. This course is approved by the Meisner estate and led by Scott Trost, director of the Meisner Institute and Meisner teacher for 25 years. Linklater teacher, Warren Chu, will also join the group to teach simple and effective ways to integrate the Linklater work with the Meisner approach.
*Teachers will learn and practice the beginning exercises of the Meisner approach including repetition and doors & activities. The teachers will first learn how to successfully do the exercises themselves. Then the teachers will practice teaching these exercises to the students. "The only way to learn is to do."
*The Meisner approach to actor training focuses on finding the most simple, direct and effective way to become a good actor - an actor who lives truthfully under imaginary circumstances. The approach was developed by Sanford Meisner who taught actors for 60 years, including 37 actors who were nominated for an Academy Award. More than 20 years after the death of Sanford Meisner, his approach continues to be one of the most popular approaches for teaching acting.
*Due to the current pandemic the workshop will be held online. Although there are some challenges to online learning, this format will allow participants from around the world to easily participate. The last workshop was attended by teachers & actors from Russia, Germany, France, the UK, Greece, South Africa, China, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines and the US.
*Class size will be kept small so each participant will get plenty of practice time and individual instruction. Sign up now!
*Special Pricing - due to the world-wide COVID-19 pandemic, this workshop will be offered at a discount rate of $275.
